At 00:00 on Sunday morning , if you listen carefully, you will be able to hear the clink of tins opening, pints being poured and the Dubliners being played. If you haven't got anything green yet, I am sorry to say but you'll not have the luck of the Irish this year.
If you are travelling to Ireland or the North of Ireland this weekend for the first time. You may think the stereotype of Irish people are true . Just think of how many pints of Guinness that will be poured this weekend.
Ireland has upped their game when it comes to beauty brands. We are home to big companies that are now global around the world. These include BPerfect, BBold and the fairly recent brand that has taken the Beauty world by storm, Sculpted by Aimee Connolly.
However, in this article, I will be focusing on my top three favourite Irish tan brands & products. Check out my list and see if your favourite makes the list, maybe you didn't know they were Irish?
Tanning Is The Main Event
When you look at the different brands, It would be fair to note that there is many self-tanning companies. Irish girls are stereotypically pale, however, the darker the better on a night out, am I right? As a pale girl who can't go out without fake tan on, I have tried a lot of different tans and these are my Top Three;
Favourite Tan #1: bBold Hydra-Boost Serum
Favourite Tan #2: Bellamianta Liquid Gold Tanning Liquid
Favourite Tan #3: Vita Liberata Beauty Blur Sunless Glow
bBold#1: Hydra-Boost Serum
This tan is my favourite for an abundance of reasons. This tan is Dermatologically Tested, so it is perfect for those sensitive skin girlies! The companies ethics are spot on as they are Vegan & Cruelty Free. Did you know that this Northern Irish brand was the main sponsor to the 'Miss Northern Ireland Pageant 2024?'
bBold claim that the ' Hydra Boost Serum Tan glides over the skin like a dream...your skin will love this tan just as much as you do!'' What I also love about this tan is that you will not smell like biscoff but with the Ocean Breeze Scent, you will feel and smell fresh while your tan is developing. Top Tip: Apply evenly on moisturised skin, leave on for eight hours and then shower off.
My skin would be prone to quite bad dermatitis and this tan doesn't stick to those drier areas. Perfect for sensitive, acne pro skin. When I first tried this tan, I fell in love with the colour guide, this was my first tan I had ever tried which had a colour guide. The tan actually keeps it's colour for about a week or so before it even starts to fade. When it does fade, it fades in a natural way with no streaks or patches. (You will not look like a Tesco's Tiger Loaf.)
Bellamianta #2: Liquid Gold Tanning Liquid
Irish folklore talks about finding a pot of gold at the end of each side of the rainbow. How fitting that this tan is called, 'Liquid Gold?'
This incredible tan works wonders for your skin. This tan is infused with ginkgo biloba extract. This promotes the production of collagen and stimulates skin regeneration. This tanning liquid is suitable for every skin type. The range is also morally sound as all the products on the range are vegan, cruelty free and now PETA approved. All products are alcohol free which doesn't irritate the skin.
So say goodbye to standing for ten minutes debating if you are dry enough to put your clothes back on, because we all know they are the longest ten minutes. This tan dries in 60 seconds, dries a golden olive tone. Which is the perfect summer, 'I've been in Ibiza all week' tan. It has a colour guide which removes the possibilities of missing a complete patch, the colour guide is even wearable until it develops.
'As a GAA/ LGFA player, we wear shorts to training and matches and God forbid we have pale legs. It is a real thing that my team will often say, that we play better with tan on. I didn't wear tan to a league match last year and I felt as though my translucent legs were sticking out to the crowd.
This would definitely be my go to match tan due to how easy the tan is to use and how well it fades.
Vita Liberata #3: Body Blur Sunless Glow
This tan is a Summer must-have! Forget the sunbeds, this is the product for you. Infused with key ingredients of Shea Butter and Aloe Vera, your body will never look or feel better.
It is very common that tan doesn't develop properly on your legs, or when you wash it off, it stays on practically everywhere else but your legs. This is because, the skin on your legs has a different depth and texture than the rest of your body. This tan is the first one that I feel like I haven't needed to put a second or even a third coat on my legs. It stays put nicely on your skin and fades naturally. No streaks, no patches, no problems!
This tan is different to other self-tans as it is an instant body makeup, with a self tan developing under the instant body makeup. This innovative idea should be considered by every brand. Looking at the ethics of the brand, like the other two, is morally sound. The brand is not tested on animals and uses all natural ingredients.
So, there you have it! My top three Irish tans, that will make you look amazing this St Patrick's Day weekend! May the luck of the Irish be with you, and SLAINTE!
P.S Vote on the poll, which tan you were the most interested in.
Much Love,
