Wow! It's been a minute since I have posted an article on here. Here is a rundown of how busy life has been since.
I went travelling in my final year of University. In January, I visited Germany, Austria , Liechtenstein and Switzerland . My heart fell in love with Switzerland the previous time I had visited and going back was good for the soul.
February, I then went to Edinburgh, Scotland. This city deserves a whole post by itself. I know this is a beauty blog but I plan to write an article all about my travels this time next month when I come home from Holland.
March, I turned 21 in London. What a great city! A fast pace, full of life city. So much to do and see there. During this visit I got to see my first show. 'Wicked' surpassed all my expectations and was incredible. Perhaps, it is a good thing I am from Belfast and can't access those shows more regularly. (I would have no money). I would also like to note that I spent £7 on a cubed croissant. They were going viral at the time, they taste no different to a regular croissant. I still feel scammed.
On May 3rd 2023, I ticked the top of my bucket list. I travelled to Paris and watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle. It was truly breath-taking, it brought a tear to my eye. It was everything I had imagined and hoped for. The fashion, the makeup, the style was next level. I felt so inspired when in Paris.
I handed in my dissertation and got a first. I wrote a screenplay about a Ballerina called Autumn who was trying to juggle the weight of not being the societal depiction of normal in terms of what it takes to be a ballerina. The story takes you through Autumn's journey and how she deals with certain bumps along the way and how she is able to be resilient making it to the west end to become a Rockette.
In July, I graduated from Queens University Belfast, in English with Creative Writing. I'll be honest, I didn't really give it much thought before hand and thought to myself, 'Doesn't everyone do this?' But, sitting in the Witla Hall in my graduation gown with my family behind me, I realised that imposter syndrome had kicked in and graduating from University is a big deal.
Also in January of 2023 I joined a new GAA club. 'Greencastle Wolfetones' Training with the girls a few times a week and playing Gaelic football in my community colours is something so special to me. From playing in friendly's, to playing in the league and then on to championships, it was nothing short of an amazing experience and as we get ready to take on the league again next month, I can't wait.
September rolled around after a beautiful summer in Donegal, I secured my first full time, post-grad job. I am the 'English Literature Specialist' in a secondary school. My favourite part was starting up a 'Creative Writing Club'. My co-worker and I have created a lunch time club for the younger kids to express themselves through different creative writing tasks. It has been a huge success and I wish that I had something like that in school.
Also, I am still working my part time job on the evenings and weekend as a 'Beauty Specialist' and 'Makeup Artist.' Working six days a week, every week. What can I say? You got to do, what you got to do!
Most importantly, I now have the most beautiful fur baby. Pebbles! We got her when she was 8 weeks old. She is a F1 cockapoo and the highlight of my whole entire life. I never knew how much I could love something until I saw her for the very first time.
That is enough about my life for a while! I have so many beauty products that I have loved that I can't wait to share with you. Wednesday, I will be uploading a new article. '22 Products I've loved before turning 22' Yes, I am an Aries! Problem?
So, here is to 2024 ! Let the beauty talk commence...
Much love,
