On Tuesday, I was invited down to the Belfast store Dermalogica for a skin mapping consultation service. The store opened in March of this year (2022). They have a range of skincare products that help with all aspects of your overall skin health. They have products for acne, dull skin and anti- aging. They also do amazing skin services which I truly recommend to you.
The store manager Jennifer invited me down for a free skin mapping, consultation that they are running for the public this week only. It will also show you what your skin will look like in the future. (Don't worry it is not as scary as it sounds.)
The skin mapping machine reminded me of being at the opticians, (With less numbers and letters of course.) I put my face in the little black curtain and rested my chin on the chin rest and the machine took five photographs of my face and my skin. I learnt my skin has sun damage and is dehydrated. The scans show your hydration, skin damage, fine lines and wrinkles and skin sensitivity. This is your reminder to wear your SPF everyday! I have had very problematic sore skin the past few weeks and I have tried to treat it with the knowledge that I have, but it is always great to have a second opinion. I have been to see Jennifer before, and I trust her with my skin.
The skin scan lasted roughly a minute and it honestly was so interesting and incredible. As a beauty specialist we are trained on all skin types and what products that are good for each one. The great thing I love about going to Jennifer in Dermalogica is that her and her staff are fantastic. They all know their stuff and they are so well trained, and their knowledge is top standard.
Skin knowledge is so important, if you want to prevent premature aging. Fun Fact: Your skin starts to age at age 17! I wouldn't have thought that I would have sun damage on my face, I do not use sunbeds and it is Northern Ireland, where is our sun? That is the power of UV rays and why we really need to make sure our products have an SPF, or we are putting a separate one on. I truly recommend visiting the store, in Arthur Street, just facing Victoria Square Belfast.

I really encourage you all to head down to the store to get your own consultation. Knowledge is power. Why spend £100s on products that may not benefit your skin when you can see the team?
