Are you a mum of a beauty obsessed teen? Are you a teenager looking for affordable everyday products that actually work? Look no further. I've got you covered.

Step 1- Prepping the skin;

£15

SPF is so important when it comes to your skin. It doesn't matter if it's raining, snowing or a heat wave. SPF must be put on your face daily. (Most moisturisers and foundations have around SPF15 in them, but it is always good to have multiple products with SPF in them. I will have a post all about the importance of SPF. So, wait to check that out, it may interest you.

This moisturiser has an SPF25, developed by dermatologists. This is perfect for young- teenage skin and acne prone skin as it will not clog pores.

This should be used in the morning, just after washing your face and just before primer. It will ensure your face doesn't dry out and has 72-hour hydration technology.

Other moisturisers I would recommend; La Roche-Posay Effaclar MAT+ Moisturiser Oily Skin 40ml | Boots £14.80

Step 2- Primer;

£12

This product is a teen must-have. A hydrating primer to create a glowy, dewy canvas before the makeup is applied. This could also be used on its own over moisturiser to give a natural glowing skin look.

It is best for young skin to have loads of hydration, if the skin dries out it may be more prone to breakouts and acne flare ups. Using products with hyaluronic acid and hydration technologies is key.

This is also great for anybody not just teens. This is suitable for all skin types.

Other Primers that I would recommend: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Hydrating Mist (boots.com) £5.49

Step 3- Foundation/ BB Cream/CC Cream

£11.60

This is one of my all-time favourites. It Cosmetics CC+ Cream has SPF50 and is amazing coverage, that portrays a foundation coverage, but the benefits of skincare. The key ingredients of the products are; hydrolysed collagen, hyaluronic acid, niacin, peptides, vitamins and antioxidants. Which is perfect for any skin type and any age. This is great for teens starting out with makeup.

This is also great for covering acne, acne scars, rosacea, uneven skin tone and dull skin.

Other products I recommend; Serum Foundation | The Ordinary£6.40

Step 4- Blusher & Bronzer

£11.75

This blusher is light, pretty, and perfect for the most beautiful natural look. It has a little shimmer which will make the face have a healthy glow.

For a natural look, I recommend shade 'Luminoso.' Definitely a must have for teens. I love wearing this going to work or to Uni. Designed for day-to-day wear.

A wonderful pair to this product, is the bronzer from the same baked range.

Other products that I recommend;

£13

MY FAVOURITE LOW-END BRONZER! It will give your face a beautiful, glowing complexion. Who needs a holiday, when you have this bronzer? ... (Holiday would be appreciated though.)

Shade 'Dolce' is a versatile shade you can wear any time of the year. If you were to buy any bronzer, let it be this one.

Other products that I recommend.

Step 5- Highlighter

£9.99

Totally underrated! This affordable highlighter will compliment your bronzer and blusher so well. It is lightweight on your skin and give your skin that natural looking glow, without looking like you've been transported back to 2016.

(This whole brand is incredible and affordable! Treat yourself and check it all out!)

Other products that I recommend;

Step 6- Powder

£2.20

Nope, that is not a typo. This is not only affordable but one of the best pressed powders that I have ever tried. It is long lasting and keeps your makeup on ALL DAY!

For this price, you really can't go wrong. There are multiple shades of this powder, but the translucent one is the best one to buy! So great for teens and makeup beginners.

The Collection brand is truly incredible, and the prices are next to nothing. One you have to try.

Other products that I recommend.

Step 7 - Brows

£3.75

Dark, bold brows are not in anymore. Fluffy, natural brows are. Brow gel is fantastic for keeping your brows in shape and making them more even, without the fear of them looking boxy. Top Tip; it is easier to add, than to take away. This is a great brow product to have in your makeup kit.

Other products that I recommend;

Step 8- Eyeshadow

£13

Morphe is one of the best brands for eyeshadow of all time. These shadows blend like an absolute dream. This palette is so versatile, natural every day looks but can also be used for soft glam, and night-time looks.

This palette really is a must-have product in your kit. You could use every single shade.

THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO TREAT YOURSELF! Everyone needs a neutral palette. (If you're a makeup junkie like me, you need it too!)

Other products that I recommend.

Step 9- Eyeliner

£3.99

Yes, coming back with this low-end affordable brand, that you must try! Eyeliner can be quite difficult, but with practice it will come like second nature to you. Trust me, I avoided eyeliner for years, now I put it on clients without a fuss!

Personally, I like to use a dark brown eyeshadow and create a smudged kind of eyeliner. It makes the eyes look softer. However, this liner is the more popular kind of style.

It is 14- hour wear smudge proof, and not flaky which is good. You don't want gappy, smudged eyeliner round your eyelid. It is easy to remove so it doesn't irritate your eyes.

Other products that I recommend;

Step 10- Mascara

£4.50

This Makeup Revolution mascara I think is a good dupe for Lancome's 'Hypnotise'. One of the most iconic, best-selling mascaras. It is volumizing, and lifts the lashes, giving that faux lash effect. It is suitable for sensitive eyes and is long wearing. However, it is easily removed with a cleanser. I recommend an oil-based cleanser to take your eye makeup off. It is less harsh on your eyelids, which are very delicate. This mascara is a must-have. Everyone should try it at least once.

Other products that I recommend;

Step 11- Lips

£3.00

These soft lip-liners are just what you need to create your own signature lip combo. They are no nonsense, perfect creamy formulae that does not leave your lips looking cracked, dry or flaky. The site has a range of different colours. The most popular kind of lip is the nude lip. To create the perfect nude lip, shade 01 rose, would be the best lip-liner to use.

(PS, if you can get your hands on the Primark £1 lipliners, stock up they are truly the best. Wish we could buy online.)

£5.25

These lipsticks are creamy, hydrating and amazing quality. I have used many high-end lipsticks and these ones are pretty much on power with those. To go with the nude lip-liner above. I would recommend shade cake, which is a nude pink. They have a vast range of shades to choose from. That lip combo is perfect for teens or makeup beginners or really anybody. Nude lips are timeless.

Other products that I recommend.

Step 12- Setting Spray

£12

You won't get a better one, that's it...

This by far is the best setting spray in the market. Nothing compares to it. It is lightweight, it makes your skin look flawless. It not only makes your makeup look better, but it keeps it on for longer as well. It is temperature controlled. Meaning, it will actually cool down the makeup on your face to last longer. Insane right?

Think your one is better? Comment below and I will have to try it!

That is a 12-step affordable makeup routine for teenagers, parents looking for makeup ideas for their teen, makeup beginners or makeup junkies who want to try new products. There is hopefully something for everyone. You don't always have to spend an arm and a leg to achieve beautiful makeup. Some of those products I would choose over my high-end ones. Top Tip; Pay for the product, not the name.
